| Attorney Profiles - Cassandra M. Chin

Ms. Chin has been an Associate with the law firm of Nichols Zauzig Sandler P.C. since 2001. Her practice concentrates primarily on family law, including appeal work to the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Virginia. She is a native of the Northern Virginia area and has appeared in all of the local jurisdictions, including Prince William, Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun, Stafford and Spotsylvania counties.
Ms. Chin received her B.B.A. Degree, cum laude, from James Madison University in 1997. She received her J.D. Degree, cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law in 2000. While in law school, Ms. Chin was a Full Member of the Civil Rights Law Journal and had her student Casenote published. In addition, she was a Dean’s Scholar and Adjunct Professor at George Mason University School of Law from 1999-2001, teaching a legal research and writing course for law students. Prior to joining NZS, Ms. Chin was Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard B. Potter in the 31st Judicial Circuit of Virginia from 2000-2001.
Ms. Chin was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 2000. She is a member of Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Prince William County Bar Association, and Fairfax County Bar Association. She currently serves as the Chairperson for the Prince William County Bar Association Family Law Committee and actively participates as a Conciliator for the Prince William County Circuit Court. She was also recently elected to the 2007-2011 Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar Family Law Section.
