Attorney Profiles - Tracey Lenox

A criminal litigator since leaving law school, Ms. Lenox has also practiced in the areas of immigration and civil litigation. Since joining Nichols Zauzig Sandler P.C., she now limits her practice to criminal and traffic defense. She works primarily in the courts of Northern Virginia, but she appears throughout the state of Virginia and the Federal courts when clients require her services in distant jurisdictions.

Ms. Lenox graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law and was managing editor of the Journal of International Law in her final year. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary, where she graduated with High Honors. She is a member of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. A Northern Virginia native, since beginning the practice of law she has served Prince William County and the surrounding communities in a number of volunteer capacities, including as a friendly visitor for the elderly and ten years as a soccer coach for Northern Virginia youth.

She has defended a variety of felonies and misdemeanors, to include Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Controlled Substances and Theft as well as Sex Offenses, Robbery, and Murder, since 1993. She is qualified to handle capital cases in the state of Virginia–those in which the state can impose the death penalty. In the interests of educating and serving the public, Ms. Lenox offers free initial consultations. She speaks functional Spanish herself, and she employs fluent Spanish-speaking staff.

Her extensive experience in litigation results in dedicated, creative and vigorous representation for her clients. When the facts or the law indicate that a plea agreement is most beneficial, Ms. Lenox uses every available argument to reach an agreement that minimizes the negative impact on her client. When the situation requires a trial, Ms. Lenox litigates the case with preparation, skill and focus. For Ms. Lenox, defending the accused--before a jury or a judge, in the District Courts or the Circuit Courts--is more than a vocation, it is a passion.
