Olaun A. Simmons, Esquire, is a trial lawyer specializing in the area of criminal defense. Mr. Simmons's criminal defense practice encompasses everything from minor traffic offenses to major traffic offenses including, but not limited to , driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, hit and run, and eluding the police. Mr. Simmons also represents people who have been charged with committing crimes such as assault and battery, malicious wounding, sexual assault, larceny, drug charges, rape, robbery and murder.

Mr. Simmons is originally from northeastern Ohio. After graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio, Mr. Simmons moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend undergraduate school at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. While in college , Mr. Simmons was selected to be a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society.

In college, Mr. Simmons's major course of study was Economics. He successfully completed his Economics course work and graduated from Morehouse College as an honor student.

After college, Mr. Simmons attended The Ohio State College of Law in Columbus, Ohio. While in law school , Mr. Simmons was selected to be a member of The Ohio State College of Law National Jury Trial Team. Also, Mr. Simmons was awarded the Lewis F. Powell Medal for Excellence In Advocacy from the American College of Trial Lawyers.

In addition, while in law school, Mr. Simmons was selected to participate in the Oxford Law Program. He studied law for one semester at Oxford University in Oxford, England.

Mr. Simmons joined our law firm in 2006. Since then, Mr. Simmons has been successful in reaching favorable results at trial for our clients.

Mr. Simmons practices in several jurisdictions, including, but not limited to, Prince William County, Fairfax County, Lancaster County, Westmoreland County, Henrico County, Chesterfield County, City of Richmond, Essex County, Spotsylvania County, Frederick County, City of Fredericksburg, City of Alexandria, Arlington County, City of Hopewell, Stafford County, and Amelia County.

He is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Eastern District of the United States District Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Mr. Simmons is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Prince William County Bar Association.

Mr. Simmons has been a guest lecturer at George Mason University’s Administration of Justice Program during the 2007 and 2008 fall semesters.
